Equal effort.
It’s not fair if one person’s doing everything all the time. It’s not right if someone goes out of her way while the other one sits at home waiting for the other one to come. No matter how special you are, you better believe that you have to put in the same amount of work as the person meeting you half way. What’s the point of half-assing a friendship or relationship? What makes it right for one person to just keep giving and the other to take from the other person until there’s nothing left? If you’re giving someone more than they deserve, then you deserve a better friend, boyfriend, or girlfriend, whichever it may be.
